Wow - you really are listening!

Do you ever feel like your children are not listening? I do, a lot of the time. It sometimes feels like they are completely disengaged with no interest in what I am saying unless I mention chocolate or rustle a sweet wrapper!

Well this morning I had a lovely surprise when I came down to Harry and Lucy making posters about Jesus.

• Jesus Loves you

• Jesus saved us

• Jesus made us

• Jesus made the world

• God saved the world

• God put the Holy Spirit in our lives

The other one...

• God loves us

• God made us

• God made the world

• God saved Jesus and God saved the world

• We are God’s Children

I’m sure I’ve said these things at various times but I really had no idea if they had sunk in. It was so encouraging to see the children writing down biblical truths of their own accord. I think my lesson in this is to persevere when it seems you are getting no where and to drip feed truths into daily life. So I’ll not worry if the kids are praying that unicorns are real or that there would be more toilets in Heaven (I know!) because clearly the truth is sticking!
