Looking through my photos from the last couple of weeks and having had lovely cards, flowers and new pjs from the kids today, I am feeling very blessed. I know today can be hard for lots of people for lots of different reasons and it just makes me very grateful for my 4 wonderful children and their amazing Daddy. Its such a privilege to be a Mummy!

Last week we had some snow which we chased up the hill after school as it had all melted down where we were. I’m so glad we did. The sun was shining and we had so much fun sledging, building snowmen and having snowball fights. We could have easily said it was too much effort or Tim could have said he had too much work but prioritising family time really paid off.
I also had a couple of days annual leave to take before April. The teachers strike nearly thwarted any thought of a day to myself but a wonderful friend offered childcare for a day and I took myself off for spa day. I’ve never done this by myself before but I must say I loved it. I took my bible and a notebook and just enjoyed having headspace and time to not have to think very hard and listen to God. I had about 10 loads of washing to sort, a party to plan, lots of sorting to do before the impending knocking down of our current kitchen for our extension but what I needed was a day to myself and it was so worth it!
I saw this in a prayer time recently…

The phrase ‘Your presence matters here’ really struck me – I can sometimes get a bit caught up in planning and sorting that I miss being present. There’s always things to do but sometimes just being present is what really matters to God and your family.
Today I am counting my blessings and so thankful for some wonderful family moments over the last few weeks. Happy Mother’s Day!
