We recently went on our church leaders weekend to look back on the year and think about the future. One thing that so many people commented on was the strength of our church community.
Tim and I are fortunate to have great, supportive families but none live close by so we have had to build a local community. We are so grateful to all of our friends who are willing to babysit. I’m amazed anyone is willing to take on 4 littlies and sometimes I’m a bit reluctant to ask. Amazingly most people are glad to be asked and enjoy it!
Our friends who were babysitting so we could go to the weekend, not only organised a brilliant day for the kids but also made us all dinner when we got home!
We also recently had friends who came and cooked for us and had had noted both our favourite meals to cook.
It’s so important to surround yourself with people who will encourage you, accept you as you are and be good role models for your children. I have friends who will challenge me, pray with me and keep me accountable too.
I’ve had lots of lovely encouragements recently...
A message about being a true friend despite standing her up on a few morning runs!
A lovely Facebook post
A little coloured card
Flowers from the hubby
Harry wrote us all valentine’s unicorns and put them on each of our pillows. Sophie took hers to nursery to show it off. I love that he is catching how to be encouraging.
I took a snap of them all at breakfast one morning because they had got it all out themselves with Harry and Lucy helping Sophie and Connie and were all just hanging out together. Its lovely when you catch moments that mirror what good relationships / community should look like.

I’m so grateful for all my amazing, lovely, encouraging friends. I hope I can be one too!
